![]() ![]() But when it's your own mother? I'd just as soon you not have a sprite at all, because at that point it just feels like laziness. I dislike silhouettes in general, but if they're side characters such as "Villager 1", then I'll deal. Your mother is a silhouette, and that's something else I have problems with. The shadows are too harsh, and the lines of the throat especially are not soft enough they make some of the characters appear more like androids than humans. It is something of a blend between anime and realistic, leaning more toward the anime style but just enough different that it feels strange. The art is vibrant, but the skin tones feel wrong - straying more into slightly inhuman - and the poses feel somewhat wooden and stiff. It reads, frankly, like a rough draft rather than a final one. It feels as though the developer didn't take time to have people proof-read. The narrative does not flow particularly well, and the dialog often sounds wooden. There are grammatical issues scattered throughout. The game itself suffers from releasing a route at a time like this, as many games that follow that format do. For a woman trying to run her own business, getting side-lined like that is frankly disheartening. Currently the only two available are Neil and Dimitri, who are provided their own tropes and backstories. Joselina gets inserted into each of the guy's stories, and it feels like it's definitely more about them than it is her. Ultimately we will have six guys to choose from, ranging in age from 19 to 28, all with their own unique stories. While this is still miles above true blank slate characters, it's still disappointing, as I'd hoped the MC would at least be fun to read. Not all the time, mind you, but often enough that it's clear she only has agency when it's convenient. At the start it seems as if she might, but it quickly degrades into Just Another Girl. She has very little personality of her own. Not a deal-breaker for some, but it is for me.Īdd to that fact that Joselina is, frankly, annoying. I enjoy stories that share a prologue or common route, as it's interesting to see how the same core issue is dealt with across each of the routes. Joselina has no set arc of her own, or at least it doesn't feel that she does. ![]() There's not a common background across the routes. In this game, you play as boutique owner Joselina, and you have your pick of 6 guys to choose from. ![]()
